A short video of plowing the garden with the old Farmall F-12 and my favorite two furrow Ace bottom IHC Number 8 plow. It handled it easily in second gear at half throttle.
I grew up when every farm had a Farmall Regular. They pulled a 6 foot wide oneway plow. To say the least they were not fast, I in the road gear they might have moved 3 1/2 miles per hour. If you are plowing a 1/4 section in second gear it would take you 1 hour to make 1 round at first. So after 8 hours of plowing you would have plowed a strip less than 50 feet in width. Now plows are up to 50 feet in width and tractors can pull them 8 miles per hour.
